You Rock! Persuasive Technology

Anne-Kathrine Kjær Christensen - CEO, Specifii

The most fantastic and innovative UX solutions that change behaviour and builds relationships with your customers comes from your heart. Do you know how to change your customers’ behavior and help them achieve their goals?

“You rock! Honestly, if awesome had a face, it would look like you.”

Sleeknote wrote me this in an e-mail and that put a smile on my face. Did that make you smile too? “In the latest 3 years feelings has been the strongest factor for the prediction of customer loyalty” (Forrester, Dansk Markedsføring, august 2017)

Pathos (the appeal to emotions) is one of the 3 persuasive appeals from Aristotle and crucial when aiming to change behaviour and getting long lasting relationships with your customers.

Persuasive Technology

When working with sports technology, dating apps, travel booking, insurance etc. we all have an intention to change behaviour with help from technology. This is the essence of persuasive technology.

To change behaviour it is crucial to have a true intention aligned with your customers.

The most fantastic and innovative UX solutions that change behaviour and builds relationships with your customers comes from your heart. Do you know how to change your customers’ behavior and help them achieve their goals? - e.g. to find love, to loose weight, to book the honey moon, to get help in case of illness abroad, to transfer money…

Create great customer experiences

Strategies from psychology, neuroscience and rhetoric can help changing behavior and reach the goals. Gamification is a very popular term these days. The strategies from Gamification are part of the strategies from the persuasive technology field, but they are not always the answer to our challenges and do not always create the best customer experience for our customers. In many cases we need other strategies. It depends on several elements and one of them is knowing our customers. Who are your customers? What motivates them?

Are you intrigued to know more about persuasive technology and changing behaviour with strategies from psychology, neuroscience and rhetoric?
